MARCH 09 -Our new Website (www.cancersupport-rct.org) will be launched on Monday 30th March at the Centre. Guests will include the Mayor of Pontypridd, local politicians, business men, supporters of the charity and some representatives of the Wales RFU team.

APRIL 09 -The Croeso Singers are organising a concert to raise funds for the charity. The Concert will be held at Our Lady’s Catholic Church, Mountain Ash on April 24th. The Entrance fee of £5 will include refreshments with tea/coffees and Welsh cakes. Please contact the Centre for tickets.

APRIL 09-Supporter Julie Groves has decided to have her head shaved and the fringe dyed pink for Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT. The sponsored event will take place at Mad Images Hair Salon (opposite the Jeffery’s Arms) on the 8th April. Please contact Andrew Gricappizzi at Mad Images on 01443 479489 if you wish to join in.

MAY 09-Voted ‘Favourite Charity’ by shoppers at Aberdare Tesco. The charity Chairperson, Mrs Pauline Sims MBE and Rhian Dash, Dr Richard Walker were presented with a cheque and gifts. Thank you to everyone who voted for us!

JUNE 09 -The Charity Manager, Mrs Rhian Dash and family spent the day at The Queens Garden Party, Buchingham Palace. ‘The invitation was a lovely surprise for all of us, it was a special day to be nominated to attend the Queens Garden Party, thank you to everyone who thought of nominating’.

JUNE 8th -14th - Carers Week. Our carers had the opportunity of making designer greeting cards and various gifts.

AUGUST 09 -The Mountain Ash Annual Parade is being held on Saturday, August 15th. Please come along and support the charity and enjoy a fun day.

OCTOBER 09 - Our Charity Golf day will be held this year at Aberdare Golf Club on Sunday 4th October. The entry fee is £100 for a team of 4. Please contact Richard at the Centre for more details.

We will be having another auction of various items donated to the charity, including some very collectable sports memorabelia. The date for this has not been set, but watch this space. If you have any items that you would wish to donate for the auction, please contact the Centre.

NOVEMBER 09 -The Cancer Support Charity Art Exhibition held at Aberdare Museaum and Art Gallery, Aberdare. All work on display can be viewed by the public throughout the week from September 2nd - 5th. The Exhibitioned was opened by The High Sheriff Of Glamorgan, Mr Anthony Williams JP, MBE and The RCT Mayor Robert Smith and his console Margaret Smith supported the day along with dignatories and supporters of the charity.

DECEMBER 09 -The ‘Tree of Remembrance Service’ held at St Margaret Church, families placed hearts on the tree in memory of loved ones. Thank you for the continued support of the Church and for the families who attended.

FEBRUARY 2010 - Aberdare Inner Wheel and Aberdare Rotary Charity Evenings. Cancer Support one of the chosen chrities for the year. The event takes place at Green Street Chapel. Tickets £4. The programme will feature music to suit all tastes including songs from the shows.

March 2010 - Charity Evening at the Tamarind Indian Restaurant. 2 course meal for £10.95, Sunday March 21st, 5.50pm for 6pm. Come along and join us on the evening. To reserve a place contact the cancer centre on 01443 479369.

April 2010 - Shania Twain Tribute Show on the 23rd of April  at the Aberaman Band club, tickets will be £5 and sold at the door.

May 2010 -Chuffin is back and its bigger than ever! At Cwmaman Institute, Aberdare. We’ll be putting the bingo sheets and deck cards away, and Laying down some Garage and House classics covering the last 20 years of this musical Phenomenon. The gig will run from 7pm—1am on Saturday 29th May 2010, tickets will be for £5 and will be available from the DJ’s listed. All proceeds will be going to Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) so get your party shoes on for this big night out.

July 2010 - The Baileys Arms FC is holding a sponsored wak for the charity it will be taking place between the Mount Pleasant in Hirwaun and The Baileys Arms Mountain Ash. The walk will start at 11:00 and fancy dress is welcome but not compulsory

August 2010 - The date is set, so time to put it in your diary, the annual parade is coming to town. On the 21st August we will be holding our annual parade so make sure you come and support the charity. Hope to see you there

August 2010 - Alan Maidan sponsored walk will be held this year on August 7th. The walk will be starting from Aberdare park at 12.30 continuing on to Mount Pleasant Inn, Miskin Mountain Ash.  Buffet/refreshments will be available to all those who take part. Please join us if you are able.

September 2010 - Garden Party in Support Of Cancer Support (Cynon Valley ) RCT held on the 5th of September at the home of Anthony Williams JP MBE previous high sherrif of Mid Glamorgan. Starts at 2pm with tickets costing £10 per person.
