Cancer Care Society

A Welfare and Benefits Advisor, funded by Macmillan Cancer Relief, started work in Autumn 2006.

Arts Factory
We have a partnership with the Arts Factory, where books which are donated to the charity are priced by Bill Daniels and sold on Amazon. This is the first partnership of its kind!
Macmillan.
The charity has a part time post of Welfare and Benefits Advisor based at the Cancer Centre and funded by Macmillan.
Carers Support Project
The charity provided support to carers looking after someone with cancer. The charity works closely with The Carers Support Project.
Wigbank
At the Cancer Centre, recycled wigs can be purchased from between £10 and £20, Please donate unwanted wigs to The Cancer Centre 76-78 Oxford Street, Mountain Ash. CF45 3HB
Fontygary
The charity holiday home is situated in Fontygary, Holiday Park.
North Glamorgan Health Trust
provides acute, community and mental health services to people in the Merthyr, Cynon and upper Rhymney valleys.
In The Pink
Was founded in 2001 by friends in South-east Wales to raise funds for breast cancer research. To date over £110,000 has been raised and given to Velindre Hospital.
Cruse Bereavement Care
exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The organisation provides counselling and support. It offers information, advice, education and training services.
Sandville Self Help Centre
A support group for cancer patients and their families. Offers breaks and respite at their centre near Bridgend. There is a wide variety of activities available including healthy eating, gentle yoga, relaxation, hydrotherapy pool and gymnasium, discussion group, aromatherapy, reflexology, self hypnosis, massage, reiki, home and hospital visiting, volunteer care service, conference centre, and therapy pool.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer
Breakthrough campaigns for improvements in breast cancer services, treatments and research. Our methods are diverse, ranging from parliamentary work and grass roots campaigning by members of the Breakthrough Campaigns and Advocacy Network (Breakthrough CAN) to forming partnerships with health professionals in other cancer charities.?The approach that unites all of our campaigns is Rights and Realities. This means that our overarching aim is to plug the gap between the standard of breast cancer services we believe women with breast cancer have a right to receive and the reality of existing services.
