Donating to the Charity
Anybody can get cancer. The disease doesn’t respect wealth, job, age or sex. Unfortunately, one in three of us will be affected by cancer during our lifetime.
But in the Cynon Valley and the surrounding areas the medical services that treat cancer have been supplemented by the voluntary services of Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT. These voluntary services include free transport, for any cancer related hospital appointment, complementary therapy, couselling, wig fitting and welfare and benefits advice. Not least, the Charity puts people affected by cancer in touch so they can learn from one another and be strengthened.
We have succeeded in getting grants to finance these services, and we are grateful to our funders (see the ‘Links’ page for details of who they are). But grants are always time-limited. They run out. It can be very difficult to get grants for the ordinary, day-to-day work which the Charity must do to survive.
Therefore we are working hard to raise as much money as we can through our own efforts. Will you help us? This page shows a number of ways in which you can donate to Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT. Every penny will be valuable to us, and will be well spent.
Donations of Money
A lot of people call in the Cancer Centre or the Shop to make donations. Sometimes this is because they or a family member or friend has used our services. Sometimes it is simply because they want to help an organisation which does so much for the local community.
Whatever the reason, this generosity and kindness is hugely valued.
100 Club
A fun way of contributing to the charity is through our 100 Club. Members have a chance to win a cash prize of £50 in the monthly draw. The prize drawer will take place the last Friday of each calendar month.
Payments into the Club are made by banker’s order, either per month, or a single payment a year, as they wish.
Fund Raising Events
Are you a member of a social, sports or ex-services club? Would your club be interested in holding a fund-raising event for us?
From charity concerts, to bed-pushes, to sponsored runs, to raffles and guess-the-score competitions - the list of events which groups organise is endless! We can help by providing collection boxes, leaflets, and - usually - someone from the Charity to say a few words during the event.

Remembering Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT in your Will
It’s not an easy thing to plan for, but making a will is a wise precaution for the sake of those we leave behind. Making a bequest to Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT in your will would be a way of ensuring that you continue to benefit your local community even after you have gone.
Most people make wills with the help of a solicitor. It doesn’t cost a lot and you can be sure that it will be legally waterproof. Please tell your solicitor when your will is being drawn up how much you would like to leave to our Charity.
